Fire Safety Compliance Audit Overview
If you are an owner, or a business or person occupying a building in Queensland you have a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in that building in the event of a fire or hazardous materials emergency. A Fire Safety Compliance Audit is conducted to assist owner / occupiers in managing their compliance with the Fire and Rescue Service Act 1990 and the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
The Fire Safety Compliance Audit will investigate the following areas of your building:
- Means of Escape from the building.
- Occupancy limits for the building.
- Maintenance of fire safety installations.
- House keeping.
- Evacuation planning, instruction and practice.
- Record keeping.
From the audit a comprehensive report will be developed detailing the current level of compliance / non compliance. The report will detail the areas of non compliance sighting the appropriate regulation or standard that is in breach, along with a list of recommendations to assist the occupier in achieving compliance to the Fire and Rescue Service Act 1990 and the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
